Car wont move til 2500 rpm?
Hi nycmax fam, i've been having a problem with my i30 recently. The car won't start moving til i pass about 2-2.5k rpm. So i can have it on Drive and my car will just stand there. I have to give it some gas til it gets to a higher rpm and then it will launch. this is really bothering me. at first i thought it was sparks, but i changed those and i'm still having the same problem. i was hoping one of you would have some knowledge about this issue

So your saying that when the car is in D and you let off the brake the car won't even start rolling until you gas it up to 2500rpm?

yup thats exactly what i'm saying. sometimes i'll have to gas it up to 1500, and once it was 3500. but usually around 2-25

any misfiring, sounds, smells? I don't know why, but i wanna say it's your tranny not engaging.. But i might get owned for saying that lol...

Sounds like its your Torque converter (transmission).

bring it to harjits (sum1punjabi) shop and have him take a look at it and you'll get a definite answer.

okay so she started working perfectly fine today. just had to clean my maf sensor LOL

Definitely a strange fix. Usually its the other way around for a MAF sensor issue lol.

That's correct, and thats why I've never heard this before. It makes no sense. Maybe something else was accidently fixed during the process of taking out the maf. If you asked anyone who knows about cars, they would have said it was tranny related.
