LF Fog Lamp Harness

As of recent I am not getting any power to the LF fog lamp wire harness, I do not know what happened, I checked every fuse under the sun, swapped relays etc to see if i can isolate the issue, I have found None, I did do the foglamp rewire, That has not been a issue as i know of, it worked fine forever, I do have a Bi Xeon headlight harness with the little relay box and it only pulls power from one headlamp socket, Do you think this may be the issue? I have a brand new bi xeon harnes i am about to put in, If that does not solve it I do not know what else it could be, i cannot find any open circut in the wiring to the foglamp harness so i do not know what it could be.

Re: LF Fog Lamp Harness

corroded pins on plug ? broken harness from relay to left side plug ? try continuity test ? is it a poor ground or no power as confirmed w. test light or Power Probe ?

Re: LF Fog Lamp Harness

I fixed the problem, When i snipped the wires and crimped on the new connectors for the hid ballast i used those little red barrels that you put on the wires and crimp them, well it seems i crimped one to hard and actually cut the wire, I measured the voltage and it was 8 volts and dropping as i moved the wire, In doing so the wire fell out of the connector and only had strands crimped, so i basicly over did everything again like i always do and crimped the wire too hard, It worked for the longest time so i did not even think at first that it was a wire untill i measured the voltage and it had very high resistance. Oh well, Lesson learned, don't go hulk on the wires you crimp

Pic of them pesky wire thingies i went heman on, god i cant think of there name.......

Re: LF Fog Lamp Harness

Solder connections + wire splices along with heat shrink tubing, no problems.

If you want to perform cold crimping properly and have them last then use marine grade barrel ones with integrated heat shrink tubing and the proper crimp tool (not the cheap hardware store one). See article here:

I have the proper crimp tool,Its a ratcheting type. I paid $60 for it when i worked on custom trucks for con edison, i wired plenty of con ed trucks, i ran outa the heat shrink wire crimps and thats all i had.In that link, The blue crimper is the one i have, the ratchet type.
