Info Needed: Hsld and Lsd Difference?

Watz up nyc i have a 2003 maxima 6mt , just wondering what is the difference between hsld and lsd tranny's? And which is better?

its the same thing Hlsd 02-and up come with that depending if you can find it

Helical limited slip diffferential -Hlsd better because its a unit inside the tranny which work through gears


now vlsd is not for our yr max because there lsd unit runs off a silicone that heats up to activate the lsd

trannies that can fit the 02-03 are the 6th gen 04-06 plug & play
02-06 sentra SE-R Spec-V 6spd tranny but you have use your maxima bellhousing

LSD - limited slip diff
HLSD - gear driven LSD
VLSD - viscous fluid driven LSD
there's also lockers and clutch driven LSDs but they don't make them for maxzimas.

there's also phantom grip mechanical LSD.

for all 95-01 non-lsd 5spds (Installed one and IT WORKS)

HLSD = on all the time.

VLSD = when there's need for both, fluid locks the clutchpacks inside LSD and locks other axle to spin together. (VLSD wears out faster from abuse)
