Switchback LEDs

So, I haven't found any 7th gen Maxis with these yet... I ordered a set for the turn signal/parking lights. I later realized I also have a front marker light which I didn't order replacements for, will wait and see how it will look with the original markers.
Anyway, has anyone seen these on a 7th gen yet? I will also be changing my OEM hid bulbs to 6k so they match (probably).
Anyone, anyone?

Re: Switchback LEDs

What do you mean the contacts didn't match up? Did you order the wrong ones or are they messed up from the seller. Where did you get them from? I had them on my G20 a few years back and they worked great. I was planning on ordering them for the Max as well.

Re: Switchback LEDs

Apparently there are two types of 3457/3157 sockets, the regular 3157 and 3157ck ... at least thats how this website differs them.
We have the 3157ck for the turn/park lights. (at least thats the conclusion I arrived at after looking at/playing with the connector. Am I just stupid from the beginning? lol.
Heres the diagram to help:
3157

3157ck (ours)

Anyway, I ordered the (hopefully) correct ones, and will update when I get them.

Re: Switchback LEDs

They're in... no pics or vid yet... work as advertised lol. Only thing I might still do is exchange them, I ordered the 5000k since they have a hintttt of blue but thru the lenses in the headlight it barely looks whitish so might switch for 6000k, if not to lazy. Pics vid tonight or tom night.

Re: Switchback LEDs

I got them from vled... Make sure to get the ck socket configuration!! And don't forget the resistors!! Mine are a tad whiter than my headlights so I'm going to keep them since the other ones will just be bluer than my headlights (6k).
I'm trying to figure out why one of them turns off for a sec when I put the car in reverse lol.

I changed my stock HID bulbs to 6000k from the stock 4300k to match the switchbacks which are also 6000k. This is what they look like matched up with 6000k on the 6.5 gen...

Re: Switchback LEDs

I am all over this. Did you get the 60 or the 92 led one? Also, I couldn't really understand but is the picture above of the 5K? Add yellow fogs and I can't wait.

Are you satisfied with the light output of the 60 or would you go back and get the 92 for more light output?

Re: Switchback LEDs

They change to amber when you use the tun signal then switch back to white... hence they're called switchback leds

The corners\signals were $80 for the pair. Very expensive but nice. Got them from V-LED. Looks like the price might have gone up.

http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/T...72045-1-2.html

I did the install myself. Just a pain to get to but easy to plug in and out. hardest part was running the load resistor because of the space to work with.

Re: Switchback LEDs

Ok, a little update and issue I've been having. (my friend is having the same issue with his '07 tl)
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/T...-p7431626.html
Thats the led's I got, he has the same ones with a different socket obviously.

The issue is as follows: Apparently after the lights have been on for a while (get hot?), and the turn signal is switched on the light blinks white for a split second before going amber, making it appear as a strobe a little bit. Right before the amber comes on, white blinks for a split second.
If the running lights are turned off it will blink fine, amber off, amber off. As soon as the running lights are turned back on it will blink f'ked up again. Not both sides always do it, sometimes they don't do it at all. It's hard to narrow down, but them getting hot seems to be it., maybe something to do with the car though since when the running lights are turned off they blink fine.
I've emailed the company, they told me the lights shouldnt be doing this and are willing to replace these, I havent got around to it yet though.
I thought maybe they got a bad batch, but my friend has a different socket type, so it has to be two bad batches in that case. Don't think its anything to do with the car either, we have different cars.
Any electricians here? I've been too lazy to hit up my shop to see if they can do anything.

This is just a heads up, perhaps anyone interested in these should hold off.
I'm sure someone else would've complained about such an issue, but none of the reviews mention anything about it, and there are plenty of reviews.
