Best passenger axle on a drop.

So what kind of axles are you guys using on major drops? I am sick of auto zones and having to replace it. Mines an AT w/abs. Current axle is the cardone from AZ. I go over a pebble and it acts up.

Re: Best passenger axle on a drop.

it doesn't matter what brand you use. they are all bound to end up with ripped cv boots. you can try lubing up the boots with greese a little bit so they can laster longer and then just give up on swapping them out.

Raxle makes axles for the guys that put down a lot of power, they dont snap as easily but will suffer the same from a drop.

Boots are not my problem. Its the poor az joints. It didnt last a month. I tried raxles. The vibrated like crazy, nothing over 20mph. I returned them both.

The only real fix is moving the motor/trans up an inch or so.

Re: Best passenger axle on a drop.

Dude if you wanna ride low you got two options. Buy axles from Arch auto parts, snatch them out and bring them back before the warranty runs out. Number two buy some Raxles. My boy is riding slammed ina 4th gen and he bought some Raxles three yrs ago and hasn't had a problem since.

Re: Best passenger axle on a drop.

Most of the autoparts stores get their parts from the same warehouses, so brands play a small role. Why dont you take picture of how low you are, suspension point of view (what angle the control arm, tie rod and axle are on) with the car on the ground.

they are all the same shit.... all remanufactured.

I dont understand why you're having all these issues with them tho? how low are you? i was pretty low and even with abuse of boost didnt have it all that bad.... not that i didnt snap axles... but still....

only real solution is to lift it up... and get some wider wheels with more aggressive offset to reduce the wheel gap.

Re: Best passenger axle on a drop.

The lifetime warranty doesn't sound so appealing anymore after the 10 time ... I lost count of passenger axles that I changed. Twice I had a bad rebuilt axle out of the box. As soon as you back out the driveway, clack clack clack. I had a NAPA axle on the driver side for 30 miles and now the boot is ripped, I think I damaged it when I made the bearing pop out ... So I bought a NAPA for the passenger side, they offer lifetime warranty on the NEW axles, its worth a shot.

The warranty is nice, but the fact that you have to get under the car and change them out is the part that makes you mad. It's a quick fix if you were lucky enough to have a lot of practice. Manual suck because you leak fluid out and have to top off again. When I was automatic, a drop never came out from the tranny.

They guy at NAPA had all dimensions in his book. We were able to find out that the i30t passenger axle is 0.25" shorter than the maxima axle.
