P0140 Code

When I changed from my stock y-pipe to a Warpspeed y-pipe I got a CEL code P0140 (02 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 2) I went to clear the code and it left for a good 2 months or so. Just recently it happened this week I get a CEL and I was thinking it was the P0430 code at first because usually that's what I get since I need to change out my front pre-cat, turned out it was the P0140 code in which now it makes me think if I should get a new O2 sensor or just drive with the CEL light on?

Any advice onto what I should do? I cleared the code many times but it keeps coming back.

Re: P0140 Code

I'm 85% sure it's the front pre-cat.

Just get headers and call it a day.

The y-pipe has nothing to do with it at all?

Re: P0140 Code

umm....lol a33ray, did you read the OPs symptoms ?
Maximus00, replace the o2 sensor with NTK sensor, dont get the bosch one. or stick to oem. probably element burnt out, that particular o2s position makes it real easily exposed to moisture from the outdoors since its the furthest one back out of the 4 o2s on your car.

Re: P0140 Code

no one reads the OP do they ? this is not a resolve a p0430 or p0420 cat code, this is a heater circuit in a downstream o2 after the "cat" problem. The sensor is probably reading dead on in most cases of p0140, but the heater circuit has become damaged simply from a broken wire or could simply be from rough handling of an o2 sensor when performing parts replacement during a y pipe install or its potentially an old sensor, and the element inside has cracked from hot and cold cycles.
I have the correct part numbers somewhere. lol.

Re: P0140 Code

sorry never got the chance, most parts stores would have a correct listing for the sensor. NTK is made by NGK, which is a very suitable replacement. Denso is a lil bit pricier, but is considered OEM as Nissan originally used Denso.

If you check out the for sale section I see someone selling an oxygen sensor OEM do you know if that's the right one I need? NGK or NTK are nice lol I recently got spark plugs installed and they were that brand.
