Hey figured I start a thread of what's been done on my magnum. I figured I should post about it. So far I took my headunit out, never put it back in. Installed 2 pioneer 6x9 5-way 400w speakers in front, I have 6.5 Pioneer for right now in the rear, 2-way 250w. a 12" JVC sub with a 2000w Rockville amp. And a bluetooth module that I bought from best buy. I was using my tablet which I normally take out daily, but havent used it since my screen shattered and has to be replaced. Unfortunately I haven't had time to do it. So just using my phone for right now. Eventually I'll get to it, also need a bigger sub, since my weak and need a better sub and ported box. Thinking of 1 15", dont need added weight of 2 12s.
Since I'm a Volly for WHBFD my car is also equipped with 2 visor Blue/White lights, one Federal Signal Light on dash, and 1 lightbar in the rear. I have a Motorola Mag mount with a low profile 400mhz - 480mhz UHF antenna, a Chinese Mobile UHF band HAM radio which I have to install since I've already did the wiring for it. I have a 200watt SVP400 Siren with a 100w Speaker under the hood by the light. I also have a Fuse Bus for all my wiring to the battery, the battery is located in the trunk, and the fuse is under the hood next to the other fuse and relay box. Pretty much the battery is last to touch from being shorted. Also to power my 2 lights I have a switch to power the front. I also had the rear powered at the same time, but disconnected it so there wont be an overload or power draw. Even though they're LED, I rather have a separate switch for both front rear, so that way on foggy conditions I can keep my rear lights on.
I'll post some pics and vids of my ride with everything on it. Including sound of system which I did at my old post office in Port Jefferson Station, but can barely hear the bass. Dont have a video of hitting the siren. so dont expect one..lol. Also have an old vid of both F/R lights on. Will add them later on youtube.
And also I took out the whole stock shifter assembly and put a manual knob and boot in replace. Looks better without having to see PRND -/+ lol. And the vehicle is the 2005 Dodge Magnum RT with 5.7L, now it does have an fuel economy feature as well. When driving at a lower speed I say about 40mph, it runs on 4 cyls, when above 50mph and WOT its all 8cyl. Tune-ups on this thing is a headache, cause I have 16 spark plugs to replace. I even change all coilpacks which were $306 and the wires were maybe about $40. If you like to know why 16 spark plugs then here let me search for you http://www.allpar.com/mopar/new-mopar-hemi.html
Used to volly as well. Do you thump the bass while you're on a dispatch call, lol :-)
If I'm responding from home, of course I do if its on a 10-20. But if I'm responding in I normally have it off so I can listen to the radio communication between dispatch and other crews that may be on the way to the scene.
Side note - I got me a 6th gen Accord any suggestions on a double din ?
