Re: Those with lightweight flywheel pls step in.
I have the Fidanza flywheel and it was great for boost and great for NA. Quick rev ups, acceleration, no regrets. Cons, in theory, because the flywheel has less mass, it doesn't absorb as much heat as a stock one does, so you're tranny temp is a little higher, but thats being nitpicky about it.

I'm NA and have a lightened flywheel.....my car revs CRAZY fast...the only downside is it decreases driveability (my rpms drop much faster between shifts) but it doesn't bother me at all..

Re: Those with lightweight flywheel pls step in.
So if your not getting anything extra to the floor whats the point ? SO if the car is reving faster it means your going thru your power band quicker good in a way ? hmmm...
A couple people have told me the car seems to lose top end with lighter flywheels especially if its like 1/2 the weight of the stock one.
I know the WRX/STI club peopel SCQ (i think its called) said putting a lightened flywheels take away their top end, also in my friends SC civic he said he noticed a change in top end as well it was alot weaker up tthere with it.
THen again a very good mechanic who works on High HP cars told me i shoudl DEFinity invest in a lightened flywheel for the maxima i will feel a great deal of diffrence..
SO IM CONFUSED !!!!!!

What is the benefit on screaming tires? Even with a stock flywheel you can make 1st gear lightup and even 2nd if done right...
If you car revs quicker, you changing gears just as fast. Possibly being ahead of the other car by a 1/2 a car to a full car, however while you are in your last gear, the other car is just hitting 4th....
For those who sometimes need to engine brake, a lightened flywheel isn't the way to go.... Less rotating mass, less engine brake.....
Somethings you just do not need to change...

Re: Those with lightweight flywheel pls step in.
